Explore Lhasa, the heart of Tibet, and visit world-renowned heritage sites and cultural relics such as the Potala Palace, the Dalai Lama’s former winter residence and monasteries, Jokhang temple, considered to be the holiest man-made architecture in Tibet, Norbu Lingkha, the Dalai Lama’s summer residence, and other important Gelukpa monasteries such as Sera and Drepung, etc. Also visit Tibet’s 2nd largest city Shigatse and 3rd largest city Gyantse.

Arrival Lhasa. Our tour guide will meet you at airport or train station, then transfer to hotel. Rest day at leisure to acclimatize yourself to the high altitude.
Tour visit the Potala Palace (winter palace of the Dalai lama), Jokhang temple and Barkhor street, where you can do kora (a religious circle of a building or mountain) with pilgrims and locals, explore the old market and taste Tibetan tea at local tea house.
Visit Drepung monastery, one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet and enjoy Buddhist Sculpture Carving workshop near Drepung. Afternoon, visit Sera Monastery, another one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet, and witness the afternoon monk debate, visit the Tibetan religious scripture printing house, sand Mandalas and colorful Rock Painting of Buddha.
Drive from Lhasa to Shigatse. On the way, drive over the Gampala pass at 4790m above sea level and you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains and the spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, tallest mountain near Lhasa. After drive pass the Korola Glacier, you can hang pray flag at Simila Mountain Pass, then arrive in Gyantse, Tibet’s third largest city, and visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum, etc. Continue drive to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. In summer time, can take tour visit the traditional Barley Mill. Overnight in Shigatse.
In the morning, tour visit the home of Panchan Lama –
Tashilunpo Monastery
; you can see the well preserved largest statue of Jampa (future god) in the world. Afternoon, transfer back to Lhasa.
Free till transfer to airport or train station and depart Lhasa.
