Today’s tour of Hanoi provides an in-depth look in to the history and culture of the city. Visit the house and Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh (Closed on Mon and Fri and every afternoon), the country’s oldest university – the Temple of Literature- and the lakeside Tran Quoc Pagoda. A chauffeured ride though the city’s Old Quarter is an invigorating way to explore the dozens of small streets and lively shop fronts in this area before ending this afternoon at one of the dozens of museums in the area.
Morning transfer to the UNESCO site of Halong Bay (3.5 hrs). Upon arrival, board the cruise and enjoy a welcome drink and a delicious seafood lunch as the boat sailing out of the bay. You will get to explore the Sung Sot Cave, the most beautiful cave in Halong Bay, swim and relaxing at the beach of Titov Island or climb up to the top of the island for a panorama view of Halong Bay. Enjoy early morning Tai Chi on board. After breakfast, you get the chance to Kayak around the Luon Cave, enjoy the view as cruise passing by Ba Hang fishing village, Dog Islet, etc, view of the bay’s landscape.
Disembark cruise and transfer to airport for late afternoon flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, transfer to Hoi An.
Morning, drive to a farmer’s house in Tra Que vegetable village. Enjoy welcome drink before strolling around the vegetable garden and joining the farmer to learn and to practice the traditional way of farming. Then, learn and take part in preparing and cooking some of the famous local dishes such as “Banh Xeo” Pancake, “Tam Huu” rolls.
After lunch, transfer back to hotel for a short break. Afternoon, take tour visit the Japanese Covered Bridge Pagoda, constructed in 1593 by the Japanese community in the city as a link to the Chinese quarters across the stream. Next see the Sa Huynh Museum, Tran Family Chapel, Lantern Workshop, you will also see the Phuoc Kien Assembly Hall, a Chinese pagoda built around 1690, dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea.
Take a scenic drive to Hue, a former capital of Vietnam. See My Khe beach. With a stop at Pass of Ocean Clouds (Hai Van Pass) and the scenic Fishing Village Of Lang Co. Then, you will reach Hue to visit visiting the old Imperial city located in the heart of Hue. This vast complex will built in the early 19th century. There, your visit includes Dien Tho residence, Thai Hoa Palace (with its magnificently decorated reception hall), the halls of the Mandarins as well as the original nine dynastic urns. You will have some free time at Dong Ba Market.
Begin your day by boarding a traditional Dragon boat for a tranquil trip along the Perfume River. Stop at Thien Mu Pagoda and the Royal Mausoleums of Emperor Tu Duc, who ruled Hue over 100 years ago, before visiting the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Royal Tomb of Minh Mang. Later, fly to Saigon.
This morning you travel to the underground village of Cu Chi and discover the incredible 200km network of tunnels where the Viet Cong lived and fought during the war. Then take afternoon city tour in Saigon, seeing the beautiful structures from the French Colonial times such as the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office. Followed by the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum the museum has a vast display of the both the Indochina wars.
