10 days India tour visiting highlights of city of Deli, the Amber fort in Jaipur, Ranthambore National Park, bird UNESCO sanctuary in Bharatpur, and world famous Taj Mahal in Agra.
Departs daily. Pick up from Delhi International Airport.
Arrive at Delhi Upon arrival welcome, meet & assist at the airport by our representative and transfer to Hotel (Hotel standard check in time at 2PM). Rest of the day at leisure.
Upon arrival, our local tour guide awaits you and brings you to the booked hotel. After a break, the first tour begins with some of the main attractions such as the Friday Mosque, the Red Fort, the Gandhi Raj Ghat Memorial and the bazaar district of Old Delhi with its many shops and merchants.
Today, you will see the second part of Delhi with its modern government quarters, Humayun’s Mausoleum, which predates the Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, the Gate of India, the Victory Monument, and more. Afterwards drive in air-conditioned vehicle to Jaiur, where you will stay for the next two nights.
First we take a half day excursion to Amber, where we will visit the famous fort. The ascent takes place on a elephant back. This is followed by a city tour of the city palace of Jaipur, we visit the observatory Jantar Mantar and look at the “Palace of the Winds” with its 953 windows.
Drive from Jaipur to Ranthambore National Park, where we will also stay 2 nights. The national park is one of the best known of India. The possibilities to see tigers are very good, because some tiger-babies have been spotted in recent years. The park is also home to leopards, monkeys, gazelles, hyenas and more than 250 species of birds.
In the morning and late afternoon, take a jeep safari through the National Park. The animals we see will be very different on both safaris. The landscape is also very varied
with spectacular views of rivers, lakes, grasslands and forests. Also today you have full board in the program again.
Bharatpur is the destination of our 2.5 hour train ride. The rickshaw will then be used to explore a local bird sanctuary under UNESCO protection. From Bharatpur we drive to Fatehpur Sikri (city of victory). The city was built in the 16th century and shortly thereafter abandoned due to lack of water. The dry desert heat has received almost all buildings wonderful. Then we continue to Agra, where we will stay another 2 nights.
Located on the banks of the Yamuna River, we visit the tombs of Itimad-ud-Daulah, also called Baby Taj, and of course the massive Red Fort with its 2.5 km long ramparts. This is followed by a visit to the world famous Taj Mahal, considered to be one of the finest structures of Muslim architecture in India. The largest mausoleum was built by the fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, the Persian princess Arjuman Bano Begum, also known as Mumtaz Mahal. She died during the birth of the 14th child at the age of 39 years.
The journey goes back north to Delhi. Stop on the way to visit the Mausoleum of Emperor Akbar in Sikandra. Then drive to Delhi and overnight at a hotel near the airport.
