Morning pickup from Taipei and transfer to Puli in the county of Nantou. Stop at the Guangxing Paper Factory for a guided tour to learn about the elaborate process of making paper.
Continue your drive to Sun Moon Lake, admire views of boats docked by the pier and listen to your guide’s informative commentary on sites you pass such as Tehua Village, a village of aboriginal people. Step off the bus for short stops at Wenwu Temple, Tse-En Pagoda and Holy Monk Shrine.
Transfer to Alishan National Scenic Area. Stroll along forested paths and see the enchanting Sisters Ponds, Shouzhen Temple and the Three-Generation Trees – one growing out of another, and a third from the second. Enjoy a train ride in the mountain via Alishan Forest Railway. Later day, transfer to Chiayi.
Morning tour to Southern Branch of National Palace Museum. Just like the National Palace Museum in Taipei, this sister branch was built to achieve a cultural equity between the north and south regions of Taiwan. After tour transfer back to Taipei.
