Today’s tour of Hanoi provides an in-depth look in to the history and culture of the city. Visit the house and Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh (Closed on Mon and Fri and every afternoon), the country’s oldest university – the Temple of Literature- and the lakeside Tran Quoc Pagoda. A chauffeured ride though the city’s Old Quarter is an invigorating way to explore the dozens of small streets and lively shop fronts in this area before ending this afternoon at one of the dozens of museums in the area.
Morning transfer to the UNESCO site of Halong Bay (3.5 hrs). Upon arrival, board the cruise and enjoy a welcome drink and a delicious seafood lunch as the boat sailing out of the bay. You will get to explore the Sung Sot Cave, the most beautiful cave in Halong Bay, swim and relaxing at the beach of Titov Island or climb up to the top of the island for a panorama view of Halong Bay. Enjoy early morning Tai Chi on board. After breakfast, you get the chance to Kayak around the Luon Cave, enjoy the view as cruise passing by Ba Hang fishing village, Dog Islet, etc, view of the bay’s landscape.
Disembark cruise at around noon and transfer to airport for evening flight to Hue. Upon arrival, guide meet and transfer to hotel.
After breakfast, drive to visit the former Imperial Citadel, an UNESCO site, from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. Afternoon, take a Dragon boat trip on the Perfume River and visit Thien Mu Pagoda. Later visit Royal Tomb of Tu Duc Emperor , one of the most beautiful and largest architecture of Nguyen Dynasty. Finally visit Dong Ba Market which is the biggest commercial center of Thua Thien.
Morning leave for Hoi An. Drive pass the Hai Van Pass, dividing line between climate zone of north and south. Tour visit the Marble Mountain before continue to Hoi An.
Hoi An is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 16th to the 18th century for Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Arab merchants. Listed as an UNESCO site, it is known for its silk, eclectic architecture, and streets reflecting the influences by both indigenous and foreign.
Morning tour visit the ancient city of Hoi An and explore the sights of its quaint historic district with your private guide. Cross over the old wooden slats of the Japanese covered bridge. Imagine life over one hundred years ago at meticulously-maintained Phung Hung Ancient House and take in the stunning Phuc Kien Assembly Hall. Stop at Hoi An’s busy local market.
Afternoon: Free on own to explore around town.
Free till time transfer to airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival transfer to hotel for check in.
Afternoon tour visit the Cathedral of Notre Dame (outside) as well as the Central Post Office and pass by the ornate City Hall (Hotel De Ville) and old Opera House. Visit The Unification Palace, which formerly was Independence palace of the South Vietnamese President. Then visit one of the most famous history museum, the War Remnants Museum.
Morning transfer to Cai Be and take a boat ride to visit the colorful Cai Be floating market and cruising among local barges full of fruits and vegetables. Then stop at local workshops where you can learn how to make rice paper, coconut candy and pop-rice, etc.
Continue boat ride into the countryside on smaller canals and enjoy the peaceful countryside, see the traditional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves, see local farmer’s farming and catching fish. Enjoy lunch at local farmer’s home. Afternoon, continue cruse and disembark at Vinh Long city. Transfer back to Saigon in the late afternoon.
Morning tour to Cu Chi Tunnels – an underground tunnels network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the struggle for independence. After, transfer to airport for flight to Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for check in.
Morning tour visit the Toul Sleng Prison Museum and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek-both, a grim reminders of Cambodia’s bloody past under Pol Pot. This site may prove distressing for some but it is an important piece country’s historical and cultural puzzle.
Afternoon, tour visit the National Museum, also called Musee des Beaux-Arts. A French archaeologist and painter, Georges Groslier, designed it in Khmer style in 1917. The museum contains a collection of Khmer art – notably sculptures – throughout the ages. Lastly, tour visit the Wat Phnom Temple, where you can enjoy a sunset view over the tree-lined avenues of Phnom Penh.
Transfer to airport and take flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival pick up and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon, tour visit the floating village of Chong Khneas and take a boat trip in a traditional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap Lake, the “Great Lake” of Cambodia, one of the largest in Asia. We spend the rest of time visiting the “Chantiers Ecoles – Les Artisans d’Angkor” which provides training to young Cambodians in an effort to revive the ancient Khmer traditions of stone carving and wood sculpting.
Take morning tour of Angkor area and explore the wondrous ancient ruins with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, which is famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone, the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the largest as well as the most complete temple of Angkor Wat. Tour also visit the jungle covered temple of Ta Prohm. There are enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers which embrace themselves in the stone foundations of the structure giving the impression of man’s creation being reclaimed by the powerful forces of nature.
